A vomit inducing, nauseating collection of hard core horror’s vile virtuoso, Mr. White. Every year at the World Horror Convention, the much anticipated Gross-Out Contest is held to determine which author can deliver the most disturbing an grotesque tale of all. Sloppy Seconds is a collection of Wrath James White’s entries into that heinous contest. Uncut in all of their putrid glory, these shorts are among the absolute worst words I’ve ever read! No shit. I can’t even begin to describe the sickening subject matter contained in the book. If you are even mildly interested in reading this, heed my warning, STRONG STOMACH REQUIRED! Sloppy Seconds rates 11/10 on the brutally disgusting scale. Have fun and keep a vomit bag nearby.

Ferals. David Lapham. 2011.

Ferals. David Lapham. 2011.

“Officer Dale Chesnutt has a big bloody problem – slaughtered civilians are turning up in the sleepy town of Cypress and now it’s on him to figure it out. But while he is discovering more carnage, and his violent passions for a sexy mysterious woman, a vicious creature strikes again, this time at Dale’s own family.” Avatar Press.

David Lapham (Crossed: Badlands, Stray Bullets) and Gabriel Andrade (Lady Death) create a non-stop sex fueled bloodbath with Ferals. Violent, Bloody, Gruesome and Shocking are but a few of the words I would use to describe this series; mix in generous helpings of brutally rough sex (with lots of overly large breasted women) and Ferals is a surefire winner. Truly fearsome Werewolves (not your tweeny fantasy twilight dogs) make this series a pleasure to read. If you are into werewolves at all, Ferals is required reading. If you just want something soaked in gore and scattered with some beautifully drawn women, this will do as well. Avatar Press keeps on delivering with over the top and extremely graphic horror titles! Ferals @ Avatar Press. Enjoy!

Like Porno For Pyschos

Like Porno For Pyschos. Wrath James White. 2011.

I found myself in need of another quick fix today so I turned to my current obsession; Like Porno For Psychos. Imagine a cure that would eliminate AIDS, the common cold and make a person feel ten years younger. Perfect. What could be wrong with that? Well what if the cure had side effects that include increased libido and sexual voracity. Even better! After The Cure is a short story centered on the idea of human lust gone awry. Imagine people surrendering to their sexual desires en-masse, disrobing in the streets focused on one thing and one thing only, pleasure. The need becomes so great that normal everyday needs go unnoticed. Eating, drinking and bathing, forget about it – more sex please. I think you can connect the dots here. What a way for civilization to end though! One world spanning depraved orgy. Sign me up. This one isn’t as violent as other entries in the book but the subject matter is definitely interesting. Read it.

Like Porno For Pyschos

Like Porno For Pyschos. Wrath James White. 2011.

Splitting my time between watching full length horror films, reading horror novels and……sigh….work, I sometimes get the urge for a quick “hit” of gruesome goodness; something that I can read in the time it takes me to drink a cup of coffee and have a smoke. I decided to put down Richard Laymon‘s, The Midnight Tour (the third book in his teratophiliac BDSM series appropriately named The Beasthouse) in favor of a quick 15-20min blood soaked joy ride. I just happened to have a nasty little tome laying around called-Like Porno For Pyschos.  Catchy title isn’t it? Written by a fellow named Wrath. Wrath James White; that’s a pretty kick ass name if you ask me. You could write a story about this guys life; Philidelphia street tough, kickboxing in the Orient (a-la Bloodsport) and full time splatterpunk virtuoso.

I opened Like Porno For Pyschos and selected a story entirely at random-Feeding Time. I was wholly shocked and disturbed by this tale of sexual fetishism gone wrong; or right depends on how you look at it. A lonely wife with a fetish for Lions (yes I said Lions) spends her free time at the zoo masturbating while she watches the zookeeper feed the big cats raw meat. That’s really about as much as I can describe without giving away too much, it’s a short story after all. Needless to say that any fetish involving lions, the Kings of the Jungle (or the savannah if you want to be accurate) will usually end terribly. And it does, in a twisted depraved and utterly disturbing way. All I can say is wow! Truly truly twisted. I will be devouring (no pun intended) the rest of this fantastically sick collection ASAP! I suggest you do the same. Enjoy.

Crossed

Crossed. 2008.

Crossed is a comic book written by Garth Ennis and drawn by Jacen Burrows for the first ten issues, and published by Avatar Press. Following volumes Crossed: Family Values, Crossed 3D, and Crossed: Psychopath were written by David Lapham. A new series, Crossed: Badlands is written by Ennis and drawn by Burrows. A web comic, Crossed: Wish You Were Here, has also been produced. (Wiki)

I have read alot of comics in my day, usually along the extreme/strange line. This brings me to the Crossed series; absolute and complete violent madness and brutality here! It is described as an adult entertainment comic not to be confused with pornography at all, though there are alot of sexual scenes. I have read all of the Crossed series numerous times and am still shocked as I turn each blood soaked page. For fans of brutal horror whether in print or on film this is a definite must read. I would recommend starting with Ennis’ original Crossed story line but it doesn’t really matter which series to start with. A free web series of Crossed is available here courtesy of Avatar Press. The Beasthouse puremassacre

The Beasthouse. 1986.

Author Gorman Hardy is hot on the trail of another bestseller and if half what’s said about Malcasa Point is true, he’s bound to make a killing. Petite and pretty Tyler and sexy Nora visit Malcasa full of expectation. But Malcasa Point is a place of pain, bestiality and death in The Beast House. (Amazon)

Just finished The Beasthouse this afternoon. Having completed The Cellar two days ago, the story of Malcasa Point and the legend of Beasthouse is still fresh in my memory, burned into my neurons permanently. I breezed through the book rather quickly hoping for more bloody carnage along the way but was a little disappointed to find that Beasthouse was a little tame compared to The Cellar. I thoroughly enjoyed the read though; the characters and their various relationships grew on me and I found myself emotionally invested in their struggles (weird I know, I usually just want most people to meet a horrible end in the most bloody and disgusting way possible). I especially despised the shock author Gorman Hardy, what a complete sleazeball a#$hole, I truly wanted him to die! Anyway while Beasthouse was a less brutal (I thought so) entry in the series, it was nonetheless an entertaining read and shed some more light on the sick and perverse legends surrounding Malcasa Point and that terrible house. I will be jumping right to the third book in the series….The Midnight Tour. The Beasthouse @ Amazon.

Next Up: Nightmares

The TeratologistBillionaire John Farrington is obsessed with the idea of offending God to the point that God would want to confront him in person. Farrington has abducted priests and nuns to commit sexual atrocities with the most grievously genetically deformed people he can find. People that he’s also abducted and kept in such a high state of sexual intensity, with a drug his company produces, that they are just ravenous for physical contact. The abductees, with basically no self control, commit some of the most depraved sex acts, over, and over again. Westmore and Bryant, a photographer and journalist, are given the rare opportunity to interview the reclusive Farrington and see inside his mansion and operation. Only to find the horrors within, and who have become pawns in the mysteries they find behind every door. Farmington’s plan may work, and to make sure he’s successful, he will do whatever it takes to have the deity of man face him. (Amazon)

Well that description above pretty much sums up what I was going to say….lol! Depravity, sexual depravity, deviancy, perversion, atrocities, insert horrible descriptive text here. I found The Teratologist quite entertaining to read (it seems that books of this sort are always entertaining for me to read) and it was another quick run through of the all to short 124 pages. Lee and White are truly twisted writers probing every sick orifice and exploring every dark perversion of humanity with a bloody no holds barred approach. Pure shock and awe here folks; tough subject matter and vomit inducing detail make The Teratologist a bizarre ride into the depths of decadence and madness the powerful elite oft take. Have fun with this one sicko’s, I did! The Teratologist @ Amazon

Next Up: a cold shower….

The Cellar

The Cellar, Richard Laymon. 1980.

Donna, the book’s protagonist, goes on the run with her daughter Sandy when she learns that her ex-husband, who molested Sandy for years, has been released from prison. After a car accident leaves them stranded in the small California coastal town of Malcasa Point, Donna and Sandy cross paths with Judge, a mercenary hired to track down and kill the murderous creature that supposedly haunts a local tourist attraction, the Beast House. Judge’s employer, Larry, is an elderly man who had a traumatic encounter with the Beast as a child.

Just finished reading The Cellar and I loved it. There is some difficult subject matter contained in the book that some readers will find offensive. Numerous scenes of graphic horror violence and sexual sadism blend together nicely creating a great horror/monster read. I breezed through the 309 page novel in about 7 hours reaching The Cellar’s haunting climax. As this is the first book in the Beasthouse series I am looking forward to reading the rest in short order. Laymon is a Twisted Genius. The Cellar @ Amazon

The Bighead

The Bighead, Edward Lee. 1997.

The Bighead is a horror novel by writer Edward Lee, released in 1997. It concerns “The Bighead”, a mentally challenged, inbred psychopath afflicted with hydrocephalus raging out in the Virginia backwoods, raping and killing whatever comes his way, and a sex-and-drug-addicted rebel named Jerrica. The book is noted for being one of the most graphic and disturbing horror novels ever penned, and has often been called the grossest book ever written (Wikipedia).

Well wiki isn’t far from the truth on this one. I’ve read The Bighead recently and well it is one big bloody mess, literally. Heavy on the graphic violence and laced with plenty of sex (good and bad). If you have no idea what splatterpunk is and want to find out well The Bighead is the embodiement of the the genre. If you have a sick, twisted and perverted view of the world, well then read this. If you like the Twilight series you might wanna steer clear of this one. Seriously anyone who can’t handle any type of extreme violence and I mean extreme stay far far away from The Bighead. Personally I enjoyed it. I was thoroughly entertained throughout the entire 274 page read; I guess the endless violence and extremely detailed descriptions of each obscene act kept me turning pages! Psycho sex hungry nuns, alcoholic hillbilly killers, torture, sunken temples, murder, sex addicted hotties, and that is barely scratching the surface here folks. Edward Lee is one sick dude, but damn he writes good shit. Check this out at your own peril. The Bighead @ Amazon
