ABCs of Death 2

Get ready to gasp, laugh, shriek and cheer at this latest anthology of 26 short tales, each punctuated by a different shocking, wickedly entertaining death. Completely one-upping its predecessor, ABCS OF DEATH 2 is packed with outstanding thrills, chills and kills, brought to you by some of the acclaimed film-making talents behind fan favourites CUBE (Vincenzo Natali), AMERICAN MARY (The Soska Twins), BIG BAD WOLVES (Aharon Keshales & Navot Papushado), MANBORG (Steven Kostanski), ROOM 237 (Rodney Ascher), INSIDE (Alexandre Bustillo) and JUAN OF THE DEAD (Alejandro Brugues), just to name but a few!Toronto After Dark Film Festival 2014.

I really enjoyed the chaotic bloody confusing mess of the first ABCs (my review/breakdown of the film here), and by the looks of the insanely NSFW red band trailer, I will definitely enjoy the second installment. Check it out below.

20130121-134416.jpgTwenty-six directors. Twenty-six ways to die. The ABC’s OF DEATH is perhaps the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning fifteen countries and featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world’s leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children’s educational books, the motion picture is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters; each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free reign in choosing a word to create a story involving death. Provocative, shocking, funny and ultimately confrontational, THE ABC’s OF DEATH is the definitive vision of modern horror diversity.

The ABC’s of death is hitting Video on Demand everywhere today. Yeah! I’am going to track this badboy down and hit it up as soon as I can. In the meantime I caught T is for Talk on Youtube and wow! Bloody and disturbing, just the way I like em. If the rest of the anthology rolls like this, it’s going to be one hell of a ride. Check out the films info here (on this blog), Magnet Releasing (Official site) or over on IMDb. Check out the full version of T is for Talk below, some official stills from the film and a listing of where to watch on demand. NFSW

I truly enjoyed V/H/S so when I stumbled across it’s sequel, the aptly named S-VHS, I instantly added it to my watch list.  Like I’ve said earlier I’m not a huge fan of anthologies but V/H/S and the soon to be released The ABC’s of Death are changing my mind on this type of film.  Check out the trailer and see what you think, personally I think it looks pretty cool.  I’ll get a better poster up when one is released.  Enjoy.  S-VHS @ IMDb.

Checked out V/H/S last night and enjoyed it very much, despite hating anthology based flicks. The film is a grainy grindhouse(ish) mash-up of several genre’s of horror held together by a shaky not-so cohesive main plot. The main section of V/H/S has a dark and gritty 80’s feel to it, though I found it to be the weakest part of the film it does not detract from the individual storylines presented throughout. Each segment is portrayed via found footage compiled on a V/H/S tape and involves different characters and locations. Here is a general breakdown of each story minus any spoilers ofcourse.
