Personally I like my horror dark, gritty and scary. A good horror villain is key in most, if not all good slasher/monster flicks. From Jason Voorhees to Pinhead, Freddy Krueger to Leatherface, horror villains and monsters serve (mostly) one purpose, to terrify! Scare the shit out of audiences and make us all cringe in fear. Well that’s the idea anyway. Here are 6 hilarious horror villains that make me laugh every time! Enjoy.

“For college student Josie Kane, it starts as a simple internship: to shadow a group of high-tech land surveyors as they make their first foray into an ancient wilderness. Assisted by grizzled security guard Dale Philip, the crew knows how to handle protesters and saboteurs — but there’s something much, much worse in the woods this time. The local natives say the land is cursed — haunted by a demonic entity older than time. Now people are going missing, turning up dead or worse, and Josie and the crew are about to discover the truth behind the legend. The most alarming horror is the one you never see coming!”

A group of college students, including Allison (Katrina Bowden), Chad (Jesse Moss), Chloe (Chelan Simmons), Chuck (Travis Nelson), Jason (Brandon Jay McLaren), Naomi (Christie Laing), Todd (Alex Arsenault), Mitch (Adam Beauchesne) and Mike (Joseph Allan Sutherland), are going camping in West Virginia. While at a gas station, they encounter Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine) two well-meaning hillbillies who have just bought the vacation home of their dreams: a run-down lakefront cabin in the middle of the woods. Tucker and Dale vs Evil is an absolutely hilarious take on the classic backwoods slasher subgenre. Im not generally a horror-comedy fan but this works astonishingly well. A group of teens stumble across the two inept hillbillies and a series of misunderstandings and role reversals ensue with bloody consequences. This is definitely a must watch on Netflix.
