As with all bloggers (I assume), I check my stats fairly frequently; most times to see how a post has performed. I also tend to look at search terms quite often, and some of the results are just downright disturbing. Some make me laugh, others make me scratch my head in confusion and others just make me want to gag. WTF! This is a horror film blog. Not a porn blog, bdsm blog or torture blog (are there such things?) Anyway here is a list of some weird and disturbing search terms that have been used on Thepuremassacre. Enjoy (actually don’t enjoy, cringe!) (more…)

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read this “this project has been funded” on kickstarter, referring to Edward Lee’s seminal splatterfest, The Bighead. What sicko’s would actually want to see that perverse, degrading, gross, atrocious, blood spattered book ever made into a film…….well me for one. I read the book, threw up, read it again some months later, blogged about it, threw up again and decided I enjoyed the book immensely. If you haven’t read The Bighead (must have a strong stomach) I suggest you do, it is the literary equivalent of A Serbian Film and The Human Centipede combined and on crystal meth. Here’s a link to a short write up I did on the book Wurd: The Bighead. Anyway (excuse my frothing at the mouth) a short film has concluded filming and is set to be premiered in Los Angeles on Saturday March 30, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Acme Theater in Hollywood. Check out the trailer and all the juicy details below.
The Bighead Film Info
Based on Edward Lee’s seminal and wildly controversial 2003 novel, “EDWARD LEE’S THE BIGHEAD” directed by Michael Ling is set in the West Virginian backwoods where vicious monsters, both human and supernatural, go on a terrifying rampage in search of a special young woman. Their path of destruction uncovers long held secrets and puts the fate of the entire world in jeopardy. The short film stars Raquel Cantu as the untamable sexpot Jerrica, Carrie Malabre as the shy Charity, Orson Chaplin as the demented psychopath Tritt “Balls” Connor, and Lance Trezona as Tritt’s dim-witted accomplice Dicky. Also starring are Ashley Totin as the prostitute Rosie, Michael Coons as conflicted priest Father Tom, P.D. Miller as the bartender Frank, and Kelsey Tipton as the Bighead’s first victim Wendy. The frightening Bighead monster itself is played by Cheetah Platt. Award-winning director of photography Fady Hadid shot the film from writer/director Michael Ling’s script. Geoff Skinner and Donald Wygal, Jr. produced.

Baise-moi. 2000
Two young women, marginalised by society, go on a destructive tour of sex and violence. Breaking norms and killing men – and shattering the complacency of polite cinema audiences. Baise-moi is a French film co-directed by Virginie Despentes and Coralie Trinh Thi, released in 2000. It is based on the novel by Despentes, first published in 1999.
Release date: June 28, 2000 (initial release)
Directors: Virginie Despentes, Coralie Trinh Thi
DVD release date: December 18, 2001
Running time: 77 minutes
Cast: Lisa Marshall, Marc Rioufol, Ouassini Embarek, Delphine MacCarty, Estelle Isaac
Screenplay: Coralie Trinh Thi, Virginie Despentes
(Wiki)
This was an unusual flick by our friends across the pond and while I am a big fan of French horror and the new French extremity, I had a hard time with this one. Baise-Moi isn’t quite horror, it’s more of a violent crime/spree killing oddity mixed with generous amounts of hardcore porn (full penetration scenes, plenty of bj’s, masturbation, rape, and tons of male and female full frontal explicit nudity). I was quite surprised to see this one pop up on crackflix! I like my horror and I like my porn (who the hell doesn’t right?) but I don’t think they go well together. One minute I’m watching a couple of women getting nasty and the next I’m watching a guy get his head blown off, it was all really disconcerting. The plot involves a relatively good looking prostitue meeting a jaded rape victim with a background in questionable pornography and embarking on a country wide killing spree; involving numerous random victims. They drink, get high and explicitly screw their way through France with no remorse and no pity. Ya ya I know it sounds pretty cool but it just really isn’t that effective; honestly if the sex and nudity were absent from Baise-Moi I probably wouldn’t have made it through the 77 minute running time. I felt no attachment to any of the characters in the film whatsoever and didn’t seem to care one way or another what happened to either of the leads; add a weirdly awkward score into the mix and you get an inexplicably disjointed amateur-ish porn flick. If I want hardcore sex scenes I think the last census put the amount of porn sites listed worldwide at roughly 800 trillion……….. A rare miss by the french. Baise-Moi @ IMDb.

A Serbian Film

A Serbian Film. 2010.
Well I finally decided to watch the much hyped gore-fest that is A Serbian film. Was I shocked, disgusted, surprised, depressed, troubled, confused and nauseated? In a word, Yes. The film explores the seedy and soul-less underworld of the hardcore pornography industry, from a Serbian perspective. I know that sounds like a film that everyone would want to watch right? Wrong. There is a lot a of tough subject matter portrayed in the film and I think all but the most serious fans of hardcore shock horror will find it rather offensive. A Serbian Film is loaded with full frontal nudity, explicit sexual scenes, extreme gore and brutal violence. Total shock and awe! There are images contained in the flick that I don’t think I will ever forget for the rest of my life. Seriously. Watch this nasty nasty film at your own peril. You’ve been warned.
