How many horror films exist? I would hazard a guess and put the total in the thousands. Good, bad, classic, gory, scary, weird and funny; most horror flicks have a line or two of dialogue that stands out. Some are instant classics that define the film and the character and some are just downright stupid. I’ve done the math on this (very complicated btw) and found that it would take a thousand monkey’s a thousand years to scour all the horror films ever made, pick out the most memorable lines and present them in any sort of coherent way. So I’ll just post 14 random horror quotes instead.

Checked out V/H/S last night and enjoyed it very much, despite hating anthology based flicks. The film is a grainy grindhouse(ish) mash-up of several genre’s of horror held together by a shaky not-so cohesive main plot. The main section of V/H/S has a dark and gritty 80’s feel to it, though I found it to be the weakest part of the film it does not detract from the individual storylines presented throughout. Each segment is portrayed via found footage compiled on a V/H/S tape and involves different characters and locations. Here is a general breakdown of each story minus any spoilers ofcourse. What neighborhood is that?

Halloween or Hallowe’en (a contraction of “All Hallows’ Evening”) also known as All Hallows’ Eve, is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on October 31, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows (or All Saints). According to many scholars, it was originally influenced by western European harvest festivals and festivals of the dead with possible pagan roots, particularly the Celtic Samhain. (Wiki) In truth if you dig a little deeper you will find that Halloween evolved right around the same time as mainstream Dentistry came into being.

Happy Halloween, best time of year after the Canadian holiday of May 24 weekend ofcourse. Lots of horror marathons on the tube and for many women, an excuse to dress like absolute tramps, god bless them. Halloween MaskThe area where I take my little ones trick or treating closely resembles Haddonfield and every year I expect to see the always elusive Michael Myers standing in some dark lit pathway stalking his next kill….I can dream can’t I? Yes I did like the Rob Zombie remakes by the way. Anyhoo happy Halloween (the international celebration of Dentists everywhere!) don’t drink to much.
