ABCs of Death 2

ABCs of Death 2

Get ready to gasp, laugh, shriek and cheer at this latest anthology of 26 short tales, each punctuated by a different shocking, wickedly entertaining death. Completely one-upping its predecessor, ABCS OF DEATH 2 is packed with outstanding thrills, chills and kills, brought to you by some of the acclaimed film-making talents behind fan favourites CUBE (Vincenzo Natali), AMERICAN MARY (The Soska Twins), BIG BAD WOLVES (Aharon Keshales & Navot Papushado), MANBORG (Steven Kostanski), ROOM 237 (Rodney Ascher), INSIDE (Alexandre Bustillo) and JUAN OF THE DEAD (Alejandro Brugues), just to name but a few!Toronto After Dark Film Festival 2014.

I really enjoyed the chaotic bloody confusing mess of the first ABCs (my review/breakdown of the film here), and by the looks of the insanely NSFW red band trailer, I will definitely enjoy the second installment. Check it out below.

Being a huge fan of REC 1&2 (I didn’t say 3), I have been literally frothing at the mouth every time a tidbit of news, teaser poster or in this case trailer is released. Now the trailer is pretty much just a mash-up of the previous films; minus the trainwreck that was Genesis, it does whet the appetite for some blood soaked chaos. Doesn’t it! Here’s a bloody pic from the set and the “Trailer”. UPDATE new official trailers added! Check it.

The Green Inferno

The Green Inferno

A group of student activists travel from New York City to the Amazon to save the rainforest. However, once they arrive in this vast green landscape, they soon discover that they are not alone – and that no good deed goes unpunished.
Director: Eli Roth
Writers: Guillermo Amoedo, Eli Roth
Stars: Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Aaron Burns
Budget: $6,000,000 (estimated)

I am really pissed, I have been absolutely drooling over this for the past year or so waiting patiently for the homage to the legendary Cannibal Holocaust. Bloody Disgusting had this to say “Deadline is reporting that Green Inferno, the Roth-directed film about student activists who travel from Gotham to save the Amazon rainforest only to be pursued by a cannibal tribe, has been taken off Open Road’s release calendar. The film was scheduled for wide release on September 5. We’ve been supporting the film heavily here on the site after we posted this positive review last September. They write that this happened because financier Worldview Entertainment is balking at ex-CEO Christopher Woodrow’s commitment to provide the P&A. They have also confirmed from Open Road that the release date is scratched, though the distributor won’t comment further, including whether there will be a later release date or if this goes straight to video.
Anywhoo check out the trailers below and go watch Cannibal Holocaust.

I really gotta stop doing this to myself; I get bored at around midnight and start scrolling aimlessly around crackflix for something to make my eyes bleed to. I find that with my sleep addled brain and caffeine burning eyes that my choices are always on the questionable side of things. I generally look at the rating to get somewhat of an idea how good or bad a film will be (I don’t put to much faith in ratings), so when I happened upon Hypothermia with its 3 star Netflix rating, decent looking cover and somewhat interesting synopsis, I thought tonight would be different. Mimesis (2011) on IMDb

I just stumbled across Mimesis: Night of the Living Dead this morning while surfing Youtube and thought I’d post it. The film is set for a February 12 DVD/Blu-Ray release, while a “sequel”, the unrealated Mimesis 2 is in the works, based on Nosferatu. Being a jaded zombie enthusiast, I am just fascinated by the constant re-imaginings and remakes of the mighty Romero classic, Night of the Living Dead. It seems every year or so a new (usually crappy) vision of NOTLD crops up from the dark corners of the interweb. From the horrible NOTLD 3D to the upcoming NOTLD: Resurrection (sigh), it seems that people will never tire of butchering the classic. Will Mimesis turn out to be another weak re-imagining or a fresh new take on a played out classic? Check out the trailer below, it does look pretty good. Here’s hoping…..

Later, Whitey plays the Lords’ record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with listeners. 20130121-134416.jpgTwenty-six directors. Twenty-six ways to die. The ABC’s OF DEATH is perhaps the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning fifteen countries and featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world’s leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children’s educational books, the motion picture is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters; each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free reign in choosing a word to create a story involving death. Provocative, shocking, funny and ultimately confrontational, THE ABC’s OF DEATH is the definitive vision of modern horror diversity.

The ABC’s of death is hitting Video on Demand everywhere today. Yeah! I’am going to track this badboy down and hit it up as soon as I can. In the meantime I caught T is for Talk on Youtube and wow! Bloody and disturbing, just the way I like em. If the rest of the anthology rolls like this, it’s going to be one hell of a ride. Check out the films info here (on this blog), Magnet Releasing (Official site) or over on IMDb. Check out the full version of T is for Talk below, some official stills from the film and a listing of where to watch on demand. NFSW
